Introduction to Robotics

This course is designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of robotics using two popular platforms: Lego Mindstorms and BBC micro:bit. Over the course of this program, students will learn the principles of robotics, develop problem-solving skills, and engage in hands-on activities to build and program their own robots.

Course Description

  • Understand the basics of robotics: Students will explore the fundamental concepts of robotics, including components, sensors, actuators, and programming.
  • Learn programming skills: Through the use of visual programming languages, students will acquire coding skills that will enable them to control their robots and make them perform specific tasks.
  • Design and build robots: Students will work with Lego Mindstorms and BBC micro:bit kits to design and construct their own robots, using the principles of engineering and problem-solving.
  • Explore sensors and actuators: Students will understand the functionality of various sensors and actuators, such as light sensors, touch sensors, motors, and servos, and learn how to integrate them into their robot designs.
  • Problem-solving and teamwork: Throughout the course, students will be encouraged to think critically, analyze problems, and work collaboratively in teams to find creative solutions to challenges.
